My next match-up discovery is of the actual Northern Cheyenne single trailer war bonnet from the National Museum of the American Indian, cat # 13/5510, which is erroneously attributed to Pawnee. INHO, it might be from a Pawnee provenance, but certainly is Cheyenne-made. This war bonnet is distinctive by its browband with an antelope & Thunderbird design. The second field photo by Julia E. Tuell shows a Northern Cheyenne woman named Kate wearing this awesome war bonnet with its remarkable browband. I'm sure that this bonnet is on the photograph: the browband, feather decorations and arrangment, side drops (ribbons), trailer constrution etc. all quite match up.
